Working Across Culture

The community of ʔaqʾam allowed Wendy the privilege of working in Ktunaxa ʔamakʔis with ʔaqʾamnik for 5 years. There she learned the importance of intercultural relationships and the humility required to provide cultural safety. The Ktunaxa Nation was instrumental in the completion of Wendy’s Masters degree through allowing her to complete her thesis:

“De-Colonizing Post Secondary Education:
Using Ktunaxa students’ experiences to inform decolonization processes
of post secondary institutions.”

“I am forever grateful for the time spent with the people in this community and the learning I gained there. This community will always hold a place in my heart.”
